We have not been to this pub since 2020 but always make it our one stop when coming to St Jacobs. When we came last there was a buffet that was out of this world - this is gone along with everything else! My friend and I went out for the Sparkle festival on Sunday November 16th from Mississauga and were very disappointed with our visit here. When we arrived the place was half empty but we waited almost 15 minutes at the door for someone to approach and seat us. We were seated near the door of the store by one lady who was not our server, she proceeded to tell us they were out of chicken pasta, corned beef and mashed potatoes. That is one quarter of the small menu of items they offer and then we sat there for another 15 minutes before our server came to us with a bottle of water then went away again. Another 10 minutes passed and we were ready to order and another family came in and were seated beside us and were served right away. By the time our waitress sauntered over to us to even take our order this family beside us had their food and were eating already. Our order was finally taken and we were given our drinks and waiting for our food. Then another group came and were seated at the table beside the first family and same thing - they were served , received their food and were eating and we still did not have our food???? Finally we flagged our server (young blond lady) and asked her where our order was and told her other people have now been served before us and we were here first??? She stated because of where we were seated it was easy to overlook us?? Finally we got our soup and it tasted like someone put a can of tomatoes in a bottle of cumin, added one piece of zucchini and called it vegetable soup - it was horrible! I gave mine to my friend and he ate it because he was hungry. We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches with fries and gravy and our girl didn’t even return to us and some nice young man brought them to us. This is where it continued to go downhill. My sandwich had pork - no sauce or flavor and no mozzarella - the pork was very chewy/oily and very little on my sandwich. Only a handful of fries and tasteless gravy! My friends meal had a good portion of pork and some mozzarella but rest was same as mine very little and tasteless. I had anticipated eating here all day and told my friend as well how great this place was. In the end we felt we should have left earlier without ordering. No buffet, super small menu selections, poor quality food and the worst service ever. Following this visit I will stop from recommending it to folks and we will not be back especially since our meal came to $76.00 for two sandwiches and soup a coffee and ginger ale seriously??? My friend left a tip because he is a nice guy but felt the same as me that it was a bad experience. So bottom line I will eat elsewhere when coming to St Jacobs going forward as this place has now left a bad taste in my mouth! Another tradition spoiled!
