Great Group Experience in North Bay
We hosted a special gathering of over 15 people at Station Tap House in North Bay, and it turned out to be a memorable evening. The upstairs dining room, while a bit enclosed with curtains (slightly claustrophobic for me), offered a private and comfortable setup where everyone could mingle and chat easily.
I started with an Old Fashioned with a custom request, and it was executed perfectly—balanced and smooth. We shared several appetizers: the bread and cheese plate was massive (definitely enough for 3–4 people), the beef carpaccio and the tomato-cheese bruschetta were both full of flavour, and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was a surprise hit—an unexpected combination that looked and tasted fantastic. I wasn’t a fan of the duck tacos—they were messy and lacked distinct duck flavour.
For mains, my ribeye steak was spot on—beautifully seasoned and charred and requested the blue cheese butter to compliment the flavour. To construct a surf and turf, so I ordered an additional side of shrimp (sans bacon) with a mystery green sauce added a fantastic touch. Perhaps this is a good idea to be added to the fixed menu. Others in our group enjoyed the salmon and lobster dishes, both well received.
What made the evening extra special was when Korrah, our server, offered to take group photos—she patiently gave us a mini photo session, which really capped off the night on a high note. The service overall was outstanding. A big thank-you to Korrah for her exceptional attention, as well as to Hannah, our other wonderful server, Addie the host, and Kylie, the manager. We truly felt welcomed and taken care of.
We’ll definitely be back!
