We come to the U.P. every year for the I-500, and this restaurant somehow gets worse every single year. This visit was the final straw. We were there for over 2 hours. It took 30 minutes just to get our drinks, and our appetizers never even came out while other tables around us were receiving their full meals. We were the first ones in the bar and then watched multiple tables who arrived well after us get their food within about 45 minutes, while we were still waiting. There was absolutely no reason we shouldn’t have been in and out.
The food was awful. The chicken quesadilla had fried chicken in it, which was not stated anywhere and completely ruined it. We also ordered the chicken tacos from their “Soo I-500 special,” and they were tiny, deep-fried, appetizer-sized tacos that were clearly pre-made and tasted like something bought from Walmart. Extremely disappointing and misleading.
The service was just as bad. Our waitress rarely came to our table, never refilled our drinks, and didn’t even make sure we had enough silverware. When we told her the food was bad, all she said was “well you still have to pay for it and you should have told someone,” despite the fact that she never checked on us before or after our food came out. Yes, I understand they were understaffed, but that does not excuse never even refilling our pitchers of water. It was ridiculous.
They were running the restaurant with only 2 waitresses and 1 cook, which is not the customer’s fault. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Terrible food, terrible service, and zero accountability. We will never be back.
