My son and I wanted to go out for dinner, but we wanted to go somewhere that we haven’t been before, so when I googled restaurants near me and I came across this place which was just down the street from my house. I remember this location being a bar I believe so we never really went but under new management they’ve now transformed it into a restaurant as well so we decided to go.
I was informed that the restaurant was reopened under new ownership and that they were focussed on a friendly family environment. The atmosphere was very nice, we chose a table by the TVs so we were able to watch the hockey game and we did not find it too loud to where we were still able to talk to and hear each other perfectly.
For drinks, we ordered two waters and a orange pop. Out of any suggestions I would have for this restaurant, it would definitely be their lack of options for drinks. They didn’t have any mocktails and I was told that it would take at least 20 minutes to brew coffee (which I appreciate the honesty because I would’ve been upset to wait 20 minutes for a coffee) so that is the only negative review I had there. As for alcoholic beverages, I cannot speak on that as we didn’t order any.
Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu, I even asked about a entrée and her suggestion which she was happy to give and I appreciate that.
We started off with a pickled spears appetizer, and it was hands down the best pickled spears I have ever had. They were cooked to perfection to wear when you bit into it there was a good crunch, and the pickle did not fall out or became soggy like most restaurants do when they serve this particular appetizer, so giving a 10/10 on that.
I ordered the chicken fajitas and my son ordered the burger with poutine. My chicken fajitas were amazing, the sides it came with were on point, and the soft tortillas were warm and soft. My son‘s dinner was also right on point, he even indicated that he loved how they did the burger as he was able to pick off the toppings that he didn’t want and that they weren’t all combined together. I’ve attached photos so you can see what we’re speaking about.
As for timing, we were just finishing our appetizer when our main dish came out, so there was no long wait in between, we found the food was very fresh, the atmosphere was very relaxing, but also had entertainment value so it would be good to go with friends as well as family. I am very excited to go back again to try some more of their items, and I am happy to see a new restaurant opening in our area, and I wish them the best
